Letters: Warning: asparagus proved deadly

Dear Parrots magazine,

Warning: asparagus proved deadly

In the past British asparagus had a short season and was expensive. As other greens and vegetables are available at this time, it is probably unlikely it has been fed to caged birds. But, supermarkets are now importing asparagus year round from far flung places such as Peru, making it more accessible and bringing down the price.

Letters: Paper towel and toilet tissue rolls

Dear Parrots magazine,

Paper towel and toilet tissue rolls

The homemade enrichment toy piece in the December 2012 issue has some good ideas. But I wonder if you know that, at least in North America, the glue that holds paper towel and toilet tissue rolls together often contains zinc.

Letters: Other options for loud Amazon

Dear Parrots magazine,

Other options for loud Amazon

Letters: Sharing my home with 2 AGs

Dear Parrots magazine,

Sharing my home with 2 AGs

Thank you for the lovely uplifting article on Pedrocska and Babuci, two African Greys living in Hungary in issue (189) October 2013. Jutka Nagyne’s birds are an absolute credit to her and her devotion to them is just wonderful.

Letters: Teaching a cockatoo

Dear Parrots magazine,

Teaching a cockatoo independence

I am just writing to say how much I have enjoyed the behavioural articles by Kashmir K Csaky.
