I was given one of your magazines (issue 171) and asked to read Muriel Barnes’ reply to breeding Ringnecks in the Parrot Queries page. She suggested breeding pairs should be housed separately, one pair to a flight.

I found this recipe the other day and my parrots: two Umbrella Cockatoos, one Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, a Mealy Amazon, a Blue-fronted Amazon and a Dusky Conure all loved it so I thought I would share it with other Parrots magazine readers!

As a keeper and breeder of a mixed collection of parrots (although sadly not Golden Conures), I loved POMPOM’s article on her large family of Golden Conures in the October 2012 issue of Parrots. It was a real revelation to me and gave an amazing insight into the secret world of parrots and the way that perhaps other parrots too, perceive the world around them.

I am planning a trip to Australia when I have finished my degree in May 2013 and wondered if anyone could recommend anywhere in the NSW or Queensland region where I could work for six months, helping out with animals and/or parrots in some capacity?
