Letters: Just in time

Dear Parrots magazine,

Just in time

I was at a craft fair and saw some items that I thought would make an interesting toy for my Amazon. It was made of wood and a type of raffia tie-up., which I thought would be OK.

Letters: My New Family

Dear Parrots magazine,

My New Family

Who says animals don’t give you great comfort? It was three years ago, when sadly I lost my husband and have been living on my own ever since. This has been an extremely difficult time for me as my health has also suffered. Needless to say depression set in and I reluctantly went on to anti-depressants from my doctor.

Letters: Go natural!

Dear Parrots magazine,

Letters: Dangers to Parrots

Dear Parrots magazine,

Dangers to Parrots

I would like to thank you and Megan Matthews for publishing an article on the home dangers to parrots. This is such an important topic.

Letters: Aviculture or conservation?

Dear Parrots magazine,

Aviculture or conservation?

In the February issue, you ask for suggestions regarding the identity of the Macaw pictured on page 41. I would suggest that this is a hybrid between a Hyacinthine and a Blue and Yellow Macaw. (Its underparts are not yellow, but plucked naked.) In 1996 in the USA I photographed this hybrid between a Hyacinthine and a Military Macaw.

Letters: Looking for Spraat

Dear Parrots magazine,

Looking for Spraat

I am on a hunt for the person that took in our parrot many years ago. My mother found someone to look after him in NE London before 1996 when we wanted him to have a better life with other birds.
