Dear Parrots magazine,
Wonderful creatures
Thank you Rosemary Low (Parrots, Issue 239, December 2017) for stating "We must never forget a parrot is a parrot and needs to be treated like one, and not as a substitute child". I have never understood why many owners of companion parrots appear to desire their birds to be human beings with feathers.
Parrots are wonderful creatures and should be appreciated for their natural beauty and behaviours above all else. They are not substitute people and certainly do not deserve to be demeaned by the ludicrous term "fids".
