Letters: No metal please

Dear Parrots magazine,

No metal please

I have read a lot about perches with regard to healthy feet and how important perches are.

Letters: Think Parrots

Dear Parrots magazine,

Think Parrots

I am really excited that Mike Simmons will be at Think Parrots this year.

Letters: Conure nut

Dear Parrots magazine,

Conure nut

I have to confess to being crazy about Conures and was intrigued when I read Pat Tucker’s article in the September 2016 issue of Parrots, her clear enthusiasm too! I have two Sun Conures that live together, I don’t know what sexes they are, but they get on fine together and there has never been any sign of breeding.

Letters: Chattering away

Dear Parrots magazine,

Chattering away

I was delighted to see in the February issue an article on the Chattering Lory. I have had a pair now for about eight years and they are kept in a large flight, just outside my kitchen, where I can see them most of the time. Although I bought them as a pair, I am not convinced that they are in fact a pair as they have never bred, although I was told that they are a male and female.

Letters: Parrot Intelligence

Dear Parrots magazine,

Parrot Intelligence

I've been really enjoying the articles in recent issues about parrot intelligence, and am particularly loving the narratives on smaller parrots.

Letters: Electrifying fright

Dear Parrots magazine,

Electrifying fright

With birds often flying free in our houses, we must be aware of the many hazards that face them. I always thought I was careful with my Senegal, Charlie, when it came to safety, but to my horror, I was confronted with stark reality. One of the most potential dangers are electric cables and I should know even better, as my brother is a qualified electrician.
