Dear Parrots magazine,
No metal please
I have read a lot about perches with regard to healthy feet and how important perches are.
But what shocked me was when I went to visit a parrot owner who was an acquaintance of an acquaintance, I noticed she had two metal perches across two corners of an outside flight, but puzzling to me was that she also had some natural perches as well. In cold weather metal perches can become extremely cold, presenting dangers to feet and, in my view, should never be used. I am pleased to say they have now been removed. Please don’t use them.
