Letters: How about up here?

Dear Parrots magazine,

How about up here?

I have been following the success of Think Parrots Shows, but unfortunately living just outside Newcastle it is a long way for me to go, as I live on my own and would find travelling difficult.

Letters: Hard to convert

Dear Parrots magazine,

Hard to convert

Much has been said about pelleted diets and as I have been feeding my birds on seeds and fresh fruits for many years now, I thought I would try, but despite perseverance over several weeks, my Orange-wing and my Blue-fronted Amazons will eat a small amount, but prefer their seeds and other foods.

Letters: All Pals Now

Dear Parrots magazine,

All Pals Now

I have read many articles about adding a second or third bird and how they would get on with the original ones that we already have. Well, I have two African Greys and a large flight in a utility room, and they have lots of freedom and light, and a good environment.

Letters: Help me make sense of it

Dear Parrots magazine,

Help me make sense of it

I have just recently lost my lovely Standard poodle Millie. She was obviously a huge part of our family. Four weeks later I lost my absolutely wonderful mam which was a devastating blow as she went into hospital and was expected to come home the following day.

Letters: Avian intelligence

Dear Parrots magazine,

Avian intelligence

I've really enjoyed Eb Cravens’ insight into avian intelligence. I can't get enough of this fascinating subject. All the little snippets of information I can get helps me understand my own feathered friend.

Letters: Behavioural problems

Dear Parrots magazine,

Behavioural problems

Tariq Abou-Zahr contributed a very important article in the March issue of Parrots magazine which needs to be read and re-read by all parrot keepers, and potential keepers. Everything he wrote made sense yet unfortunately many people who have parrots in their care disregard some of the vital information he offers. Readers of the magazine are the more enlightened ones so perhaps breeders who sell their young and, indeed, anyone who knows someone who has recently acquired a parrot, should make copies of this article for the less well informed.
