Knowing them better
In the August issue of this magazine, I was delighted to find an article on parrots’ genomes, as this is a subject close to my heart. It seems that owners of parrots are becoming increasingly interested in what makes their birds tick, and the information contained in this article is very interesting.
I have a Blue-front and spend endless hours with him trying to find how his days work out. We all know parrots are incredibly intelligent and I find it quite heart wrenching when I see them cooped up in totally unsuitable cages, and looking thoroughly depressed.
I congratulate the writer of this piece for giving us a unique insight into how our birds live their lives.
