It was only recently when a friend of a friend took me round to see another person’s aviaries, knowing that I was interested in parrots, but was somewhat surprised at the debris and mess that was in those flights.
I know it takes a bit of time and effort to get inside and clean, but if you are going to keep birds it is a commitment and responsibility and that should always come first. Our birds are in a captive environment and are totally reliant on what we provide for them. Cleaning out aviaries and cleaning perches doesn’t take that long and I would also strongly suggest a safe disinfectant is used, as prevention is far better than cure.
