Dear Parrots magazine,
Hobbyist breeders
As a complete amateur I breed my birds purely for fun and enjoyment, but I would like to see more information about breeding, parent or hand-reared, correct diets for breeding pairs, and supplements, etc.
I have been breeding Port Lincolns for a number of years now, but can’t say I have had brilliant success and fear it is through lack of knowledge and understanding that might present a problem.
With more information for us amateurs, I would like to think it would also encourage our younger generation to become more interested in outside hobbies and pursuits rather than stuck in front of their smart phone or tablets. I love technology, but I also love the interests that we had over past decades.
