Conure inspires artwork
I have had Layla, my Pineapple Green-cheeked Conure for just four months, and I can’t believe what a joy and inspiration she has been to me. Having obtained an A-grade, A-level in Art, I went on to study at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London, but I have never felt so inspired in my artwork, as I have since I’ve had my Conure.
Apart from taming down to be a wonderful, trusting and loving companion, she has also made me so aware of all the beautiful parrots that there are in the world. Their amazing colours, and Layla’s amazing colours, have encouraged me to make bolder and more colourful pieces, and having her has transformed my work. My art is my hobby now, and for me personally, who finds it hard to relax sometimes, I find working on my artwork very therapeutic, especially when I combine it with Nature. I have just completed some cards, and I am working on a large pastel piece at the moment, and I will definitely be drawing Layla in the future.
