Dear Parrots magazine,

Cleaning up

How many times have we heard that owning a parrot will result in converting your furniture into matchsticks, and lots of mess around the cages and your house, but don’t we just love them!

I have had two Blue-fronted Amazons for nearly 30 years and every day I have to go around cleaning up after them with dust and debris flying from their cages, as well as in other parts of the house because they are out free flying most of the time. I have always had a handheld vacuum cleaner that fits in a cradle fixed on the wall that works pretty well, but can be quite heavy if your hands are not as good as they used to be.

It was by chance when looking at something on the Internet that an advert popped up showing a man cleaning out his car with a small vacuum cleaner, looking a bit like a small cordless drill that DIYers you. Just got me thinking, so I started to do some research and found that there are a number of these smaller type vacuum cleaners available. As a result, I found quite a few on eBay, Amazon and other sites.

So, I decided to take the plunge and eventually picked one from eBay and thought is this going to be something that I will be returning?
But my suspicions were totally unfounded, as the item I bought on eBay turned out to be brilliant and has solved so many problems I have had with my hands. This small device is rechargeable works from a USB cable which can be connected to a computer laptop or tablet, or indeed, as I have done, straight into a plug on a mains socket.

This little machine is a dream for picking up all that parrot debris in seconds and I would recommend them to anyone, as they remove all the hassle of the continuing cleaning up, making it now just so easy and quick. The only thing I would say is that if you decide to purchase one, make sure you get the more powerful versions with 90000pa super suction. The one I bought from eBay was just £20.99 with free delivery, and as far as I am concerned, worth every penny.
