Dear Parrots magazine,

Much has been said about pelleted diets and as I have been feeding my birds on seeds and fresh fruits for many years now, I thought I would try, but despite perseverance over several weeks, my Orange-wing and my Blue-fronted Amazons will eat a small amount, but prefer their seeds and other foods.
They love peas in the pod, when in season, runner beans, corn on the cob, pomegranate and beetroot. However, they do eat some pellets, but they seem to delight in the therapy of shucking seeds, which keeps them amused for quite some time.
