At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that these parrots have absolutely nothing in common.  But, although these species are very diverse, and come from three different continents, the answer, is that all of these birds are ‘powder down’ parrots, and produce and shed, copious amounts of dust, dust and more dust! 

But, what exactly is this white dust?  Where does it come from?  What is it for?  And, what are the implications of this airborne dust, when it comes to our health, and our parrot’s health, and what can we do about it?
