An update from John Hayward: We are often asked how long can a Parrot survive in the wild, well at this time of the year there is a good survival rate. The Amazon lost at East Grinstead has been out for ten weeks visiting various peoples’ gardens and living on fruit and nuts until eventually being caught and returned to the owner. It was positively identified as the lost bird via its breeders ring. Good news indeed and do not give up too soon if you lose your parrot.
