Major goes AWOL

Major, my Military Macaw, was having a lovely time in the garden, as he often does early evening, while I kept hold of him by securing his front toes on his right foot between my thumb and fore-finger.  I have also done this when walking with him around the W. Sussex village where I live, and have always found this to be a good method of carrying him around safely and he seems to like it.  Holding on to his feet in this way I think, makes him feel secure and I have found it far better than using the body harness he destroyed.
