Most companion parrots exhibit aggressive behaviours from time to time, but some seem to be extremely aggressive more often and in many different situations.
Many years ago, I did a survey and one of the questions I asked was, “what would make you decide to find a new home or situation for your parrot?” The main answer was a variation of “serious aggression that I can’t change.” Because people don’t have the knowledge, dedication, and patience to live with a parrot who exhibits hard-core aggression, they often don’t keep their parrots. The majority of the time, parrots who are aggressive in a home where people have an understanding of their behaviour, can be worked with to manage that aggression.
