Living with Purdey: Making progress with our rescue Amazon

Purdey is without doubt the most challenging parrot we have invited into our home.  He is a mature Yellow-crowned Amazon and at nine years old is in peak condition.  When we first met Purdey he was in good feather and had obviously been well cared for, but a photo taken in his former home showed him standing on top of a very small cage, more suitable for a cockatiel than a big Amazon.
