The positive effects of our fledgling Amazon escaping…

Mr Red, our eight month-old fledgling Yellow-fronted Amazon and his sister Sunshine escaped from their 20ft aviary on Saturday morning through a loose feeding door. Sunshine primly flew back to my shoulder that same evening at feeding time, but Red had obviously ventured further afield than our farm, and I could not establish any contact call with him. This long period of quiet is not abnormal as lots of parrots on their first time out will maintain a fascinated silence out in the trees.
